The Luggage textile puffs is created in collaboration with Ire Furniture.
I got the task to create interior accessories out of the textile waste pieces left from the production of the company's upholstered furnitures.
The idea for the luggage design started with that I wanted to create an extra seat that could melt into the room when not in use. As I travel a lot and often sit on my bag when the train is late an ide sparked.
The company have many leftovers from the exclusive Tärnsjö leather, to use the small pieces as details saves the valuable material and adds a value to the new design.
The corners and handles are easily made from small pieces of leather and transforms into the design of the LUGGAGE collection;
a square luggage box, a long luggage trunk and a round luggage hattbox.
The collection works as a decorative installation in room and a comfortable seat, inspires play for the younger ones and memories for the older generation.
The puffs have a nostalgic reference to old suitcases, but reminds us of our traveling today.
